A Week in Rehoboth Beach

Hi everyone! We had a great time last week in Rehoboth Beach, DE, with the Hollands. Andrew's parents rented a beach house on Columbia Avenue and Lucy had a blast playing with her cousins Madison and Nathan. This fist picture sums up the week pretty well: Lucy constantly pulling us into the water. The waves were huge - she had no fear and loved it.

We had a good routine every day. Each morning we were up by 6 (kids!), ate breakfast and were at the beach by 8:30 or 9. We spent about 3 hours there and then headed in for lunch followed by naps - for everyone. The house we stayed at was conveniently two blocks from the beach, so we pulled the kids in a wagon everyday, and carried the umbrellas and chairs.

Too much fun in the sun!
As the week went on we learned more about the beach house we were at. It is owned by a former Delaware Member of Congress, and his wife is an artist. There was beautiful art work throughout the house and connected to the carriage house out back is her studio. We got to see some of her works in progress.

On Thursday afternoon we took a break from the routine and took the kids to the Fun Land in the downtown part of Rehoboth. This boat ride was Lucy's first carnival ride ever - and she did 3 others! The week was a huge growth week for her as she did everything her big cousins did - and for me too. My baby is growing up!

Not pictured here are the two restaurants we ate at. Dogfish Head is a must. We went for lunch before it got too crowed - good advise from a colleague. The guys also did their brewery tour which was 20 miles down the road. We went to Big Fish Grille for dinner one night. So much fun, and such good food. Big Fish was definitely a highlight of the week for me. I loved that we were seated a bit snug in a large booth, and the kids were so fun. We all had such a good time.
