Beautifying in OT

For the most part, I have been relying on my DC hair and nail places since our move to OT. Almost a year later, time to figure out the OT beautifying scene.

Part 1: Nails. A former colleague and friend Leslie Schweitzer recommend I pay a visit to Donna at Profiles hair studio. Leslie claims that Donna does the best manicure/pedicures. The entrance to Profiles is on N. Henry, but the address is 1011 King. This place is primarily a hair salon - with Donna in a nice back room, with nice everything. And it's just Donna. Her manicures are $30, and I think I saw that pedicures are $60. So you pay a good amount, but it's worth it. I've seen Donna twice now, but because she is the best, she gets booked up quite far in advance and doesn't take many after work appointments. So I've kept with good ole Mimosa in Dupont for the most part. Today was the day for a change.

I went to Yelp and found Royal Nails on Royal street. We seem to spend a lot of time on Royal street - Grape & Bean, Fontaine Cafe, church, so why not a nail place on Royal. I walked in, and walked right back out. The fumes were awful, and it was just one man. Weird. Then I went to Always Sunny Nails on N. Lee Street. They said they couldn't fit me it, and I would have to come back tomorrow. I don't have time tomorrow. Just a few doors down I found Riverside Nails. Third time is a charm! There were two ladies there - Lina and Kacie - both from Korea. They were awesome. The place was very clean, no crazy fumes, and these ladies were having a lot of fun. $30 for a pedicure. It was great. I'm happy. I think this will be my new go-to, with visits to Donna for special occasions.
