Hitchhiking to Old Town

The bus we take to work everyday - the 11Y - broke down last week. Before it broke down, a girl was telling us how the bus she was on the night before had broken down. They all had to wait over an hour for another bus to rescue them - and it was dark, cold, and rainy. Just as she finished her story our bus started beeping, and then powered off. Was it the same bus as the night before!?

Broken down 11Y bus
We broke down just as we were about to merge onto the 14th street bridge. I wasn't able to get a seat on the bus (a first for me) and after five minutes of so of waiting, 10-15 of us got off. This was possible because there was a grassy median where all the 395 lanes merge. Another 11Y was coming and we thought we could get it to stop for us.

In the meantime, a woman waved down a car, explained our situation, and this driver offered to take four people to Old Town. The driver looked like a nice lady, with a nice car, and had nice shoes in the back seat of her car. So I got in. One of the other ladies that got in happened to be my friend Ashley's business partner Alex. Small world. I was home in no time, and was really grateful for this kind hearted woman that lives down the street from us.
