Kayla came to visit!

My great friend Kayla came to see us and our place this weekend. She had spent the week in Crontonville, NYat the JackWelch Leadership Center attending a GE training course for their best and brightest. On Friday afternoon Kayla flew from NY to DC, which also happened to be the second day in a row of a very light snow (but enough for DC to panic). Her flight was slightly delayed but when she got here it was just like old times. Kayla has an incredible ability to retell stories of events that happened years ago. We laughed so hard.

Here are some things we did in her short but sweet visit.
  • Pizza from Faccia Luna - They are 2 blocks away and we had their takeout pizza the first night in our new house (thanks Lauren, Blaire & April!) and we thought we would try it again. We got the Margahrita (you need to request fresh basil to be added), the Faccia Luna which comes with sausage, mushrooms and red peppers and the Rucola Blanco that is a white pizza with arugula. Yum!
  • Jackson 20 - Fun flatware and the restaurant has a focus on pigs.
  • Shopping on King at Mint Condition (love this consignment shop), Gap, Banana, NineWest and  King Jewelers. We found Andrew in the Irish Walk

Less than 20 hours later we had to say goodbye to dear Kayla. We loved every minute and can't wait to see her in April in WI!
