The Baltimore Zoo is Awesome

This year has been a quiet one so far as we prepare for baby girl Holland to arrive.

Lucy has had fun playing in the snow...

And making Valentine's for her nearest and dearest.

Last weekend we met Lucy's cousins at the Baltimore zoo - a good mid-spot for us all. 

Because it is the middle of winter tickets are discounted and there were not many people. We could let the kids run ahead without them getting lost in crowds. 

Given my 9 month pregnant state, I was a bit surprised that I managed just fine walking around a zoo for two hours. The zoo is nicely compact so very manageable. Not hilly with long paths to exhibits like the DC zoo.

And the animals were fantastic. The top exhibit for the adults was the lion who was right up on the glass window. This was a bit much for poor Lucy though. She preferred the peacock. 

Overall, it's a great zoo and I hope we can do it again next winter.
